About

Katie is a maker of hand-built ceramics, based in the East End of Glasgow. Her practice is concerned with elevating everyday experiences with considered design, taking into account how her vessels will occupy space and be interacted with; a notion influenced by her studies in Architecture.

Inspiration is drawn from the accidental collage of textures seen in the weathered, gritty surfaces of both Katie's current urban locale and the industrial coal-flecked coastline she grew up along. She explores curved forms, loosely influenced by the female form and at the same time a celebration of voluptuous fruits and vegetables, a fascination which began while with organic produce at a Community Interest Company.

In 2026 she was awarded an Inches Carr Emerging Makers Craft Bursary, and participated in Craft Scotland's 2025 COMPASS Programme.
