SATURCLAY! 19th of April
This session will cover the basics of both throwing a pot on the wheel, and the basics of free form handbuilding with clay!
This session will be divided up into two blocks. In the first half Katie will take you through the process of working on the wheel to produce your first thrown pieces. In the second half, Ruth will show you how to work with clay using techniques like pinching and coiling. There’ll also be an opportunity to bring your thrown pieces and combine them with handbuilt elements - like spouts, handles, or something more sculptural! You also have the option to make a totally separate handbuilt piece! It’s up to you!
Your outcome from this session will be up to 4 pieces, which will be fired and glazed by Katie and Ruth, applying a glaze of your choice from a small selection of fun finishes! Your work will be available for collection 4-6 weeks after the session.
These sessions can have up to 8 participants and are a great way to discover the beauty of ceramics and try different methods before committing to a block of lessons in one specific technique.
